USC Annenberg Media Center

During the fall of 2019, I worked as a multimedia journalist at the USC Annenberg Media Center. I wrote for the USC Desk, which covered news and human-interest stories around campus. In this position, I collaborated with other journalists from various shifts toward a collective editorial goal. Working in this fast-paced newsroom offered an environment that I crave in future opportunities. Take a look below for some of my favorite published stories.

  • As the Saddleridge fire burns, USC students are affected

For the past five days, the Saddlerige fire has spread over 7,500 acres, torching the hills that line the San Fernando Valley’s northern edge and affecting USC students whose families live in that area.

The fire started on Thursday, Oct. 10, and has since forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes. Fire officials have stated that the fire is more than 40% contained, but dozens of structures, including homes, have already been damaged.

  • USC researchers publish key findings in male, female kidneys

USC stem cell researchers have completed their analysis and in-depth deconstruction of the kidney to highlight the key differences in the organ between males and females. This notion of sexual diversity comes as a historic distinction, as previous studies have relied solely on male data to be applied to the kidneys of both sexes.
